All feudal tenures were abolished for land alienated (sold off or other means exchange) from the crown of the British Realm in 1660.
Land which was still owned by the crown remained under feudal tenure lease and fees were due.
Abolition of Feudal tenure (in modern terms: the leasehold of land from the Crown) was in the year 1660 and the first recorded British claim of possession being the east coast of Australia in 1770 by the then Lieutenant James Cook.
In the first instance, the land of the east coast of Australia is claimed for the British Crown. Upon claiming possession, the law would be followed for the procedure of claiming a "Royal Incident". Including all the laws Queen Victoria swore on her oath on ascension to the Crown.. (Including oath to the abolition statute).
It is later in time, that Botany Bay which was first suggested for colonisation by Cook, became a convict colony.
